BIOPROCESSING MODULES

AUTOMATIC MEDIA EXCHANGE

No more changing culture media manually on Saturday at 3am!

Define a rate with which fresh medium is added and used medium is removed. Alternatively you can control the exchange according to measured values such as pH, glucose, lactate etc. If needed the fresh medium can be cooled.

GAS EXCHANGE/BUBBLE TRAP

Exchange soluble gases effectively and remove unwanted air bubbles.

You can equilibrate dissolved gases with a given atmosphere. Depending on the gas mixture you feed into the system you can for instance ascertain a defined medium pH or recreate specific cellular environments such as hypoxia.

METABOLITE MONITOR

Continuously monitor glucose, lactate, glutamine and glutamate concentrations.

Based on continuous monitoring you can actively control concentrations in the circulating medium by selectively feeding metabolites into the system.

pH/pO2 MODULE

Control the pH and the pO2 of the medium.

 

For measuring you can choose between Mettler Toledo probes or a non-invasive optical detection using sensor technology by PreSens. In conjunction with Gas Exchange and Gas Mixer you can also tightly control these values.

 

TEMPERATURE CONTROL

Heat the medium and the tissue to the desired temperature.

Moreover, you can freely choose different points in which the medium temperature is measured and controlled.

PERISTALTIC PUMP

Continuous perfusion of the tissue chamber.

The flowing medium improves the mass transfer of nutrients and oxygen and therefore results in a more physiological environment, when compared to static cells culture systems.

BAG PUMP

Create a physiological heart beat.

Enables perfusion with any desired dynamic pressure or flow profile. You can for instance reproduce pulsatile flow such as created by a beating heart. In addition floating cells are not squeezed.

ELECTROPHYSIOLOGY MODULE

Stimulate your tissue and measure its electrical activity.

Are you working with neurons, muscle cells or any other electrically active tissue? This module can measure biopotentials on 16 channels. For electrical stimulation you can choose pulse shape, amplitude, pulse length and frequency.

MECHANICAL STIMULATION

The fitness studio for your tissue.

Are you working with muscle cells? This module can stretch or compress your tissue by different means, such as linear motors or pressurized air. You can also measure the applied force and the force produced by the cells.

MICROSCOPE

Observe your tissue while your setup is in operation.

Or let the microscope take pictures automatically at a given interval (for example every hour). Images series will then be ready to be analyzed.
